Has Covid-19 affected supply-chain relationships?

Results from a new online survey suggest improved supply chain relationships could be one positive outcome from the Covid-19 pandemic.

The near 200 attendees at the recent 19th ARC360 webinar were asked* how their key supply chain relationships were evolving, 51% said that they were continuing to evolve for the better, whilst a further 28% said their relationships had found a ‘new norm’, with less than a quarter (21%) saying they were increasingly challenging.

Encouragingly, only 17% said they expected work levels to decrease in the next two months during the ‘summer holidays’, with 22% predicting that the previously experienced steady upward trend would continue despite the schools breaking up. 61% did not expect the summer break to have any major impact on volumes – which are fluctuating between the 60 and 70% mark.

58% of respondents said they are continuing to balance staffing levels with work volumes, while Interestingly, 21% said they were in the process of streamlining headcount, with the same number saying that they were bringing more people onboard.

* The snap survey was carried out live during the 19th webinar hosted by ARC360 – the new communication and events platform aimed specifically at the automotive incident repair sector – in association with I Love Claims.
